As already reported, an aircraft package of 18 A-10Cs left Continental United States (CONUS) for Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. According to a well-informed person who likes to remain anonymous, ten of the jets are from the 184th Fighter Squadron, 188th Fighter Wing (Arkansas ANG):
A-10C 78-0583 (Lajes photo proof)
A-10C 78-0613
A-10C 78-0614
A-10C 78-0616
A-10C 78-0621
A-10C 78-0630
A-10C 78-0639 (Lajes photo proof)
A-10C 78-0646
A-10C 80-0166
A-10C 80-0188, marked 188 FW
The others are from the 104th Fighter Squadron, 175th Wing (Maryland ANG), including A-10C 79-0082 (Lajes photo proof).
On March 31, all 18 jets arrived at Lajes Field, Azores, for their first stopover.
At Bagram Airfield, the ANG "Rainbow Team" will replace a deployed "Total Force" A-10C team, also consisting of 18 aircraft.
Note: Many thanks to my personal contact for sharing the serial nummers listed above! I would be very grateful for any help to identify the remaining seven 104th Fighter Squadron jets.
