Video: Demons to DM - 127th Wing A-10s depart Selfridge ANGB for Davis-Monthan

Transcript

On a bitterly cold morning at Michigan's Selfridge Air National Guard Base, 10 Red Devils took off and headed to the sun.

It was part of Operation Demons to DM.

After just six months of flying the A-10, pilots from the 107th Red Devils fighter squadron, along with about 120 maintainers and other support personnel, left Selfridge Air National Guard Base – on a blustery day when the wind-chilled temperatures never climbed out of the single digits. These Warthogs were headed for a month-long deployment to Davis Monthan Air Force Base near Tucson, Arizona.

There, the Red Devils will take advantage of the ideal weather conditions to increase their training tempo to prepare for an upcoming mission in support of operations anywhere around the world.

Meanwhile, the remainder of the Michigan A-10 fleet is remaining at home base, continuing ongoing local training as the 127th Wing stands ready to answer the nation's call.

For the 127th Wing, I'm Technical Sgt Dan Heaton reporting.
