6/14/2011 - Tech. Sgt. Matthew Johnson, crew chief, 717th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, shakes hands with Lt. Col. James Macaulay, deputy commander, 917th Fighter Group, after a photo session June 3, 2011, at Barksdale Air Force Base, La. The two Airmen wanted to document the final time they stood together next to the A-10 Thunderbolt affectionately known as "Boss Hawg." Soon after the photo was taken, the new aircraft commander's name was painted on the side of the jet. It was revealed at promotion and assumption of command ceremonies held Friday, June 10, 2011, in the A-10 hangar at Barksdale. During those ceremonies, Colonel John Breazeale assumed command of the 917th Fighter Group and officially became the new aircraft commander of "Boss Hawg." Approximately 70 family members, friends and civic leaders were in attendance for the event. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Jeff Walston) Hi-res
Note: The art on the "Hog" is MARRYI'N SAM, together with ladder door art BOSS HAWG.
