On Sunday, probably ten 75th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron A-10Cs finally left Al Udeid AB, Qatar (379th Air Expeditionary Wing), on their way back home to Moody AFB, Georgia, after a six-month combat deployment to the 451st Air Expeditionary Wing at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
For some days they were stucked at the "Deid" waiting for tanker support, not available enough because of Libya combat operations.
According to the Dutch Scramble Messageboard, they had a short stopover at NAS Sigonella, Sicily. And so I hope, I will get stopover pics from at least one of my Lajes contributors later today.
