8/14/2012 - Retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. John Bradley looks in the cockpit of a 47th Fighter Squadron A-10 Thunderbolt II during a visit to Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Aug. 13, 2012. In 1980, this aircraft was flown by Bradley from the Fairchild Republic factory where it was built, to Barksdale when the squadron was transitioning from flying the A-37 Dragonfly to the A-10. Brian Plauche, 917th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron operations officer, during a visit to Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Aug. 13, 2012. From 1973 until 1985, Bradley was assigned as a pilot to the 47th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Barksdale and his name was on the side of aircraft 79-0142, which is still in service at Barksdale.
