A flight of four A-10Cs from the 81st Fighter Squadron, 52nd Fighter Wing (USAFE), Spangdahlem AB, Germany, arrived at Lajes Field, Azores, for stopover enroute Continental United States (CONUS) on October 10, 2012.
The fourship included A-10Cs 81-0956, 80-0275, 81-0965 and 81-0976 (Callsigns Huron96-99). They were supported by tanker KC-135 62-3543 (Callsign CAFE46).
At Lajes, Warthog News contributor André Inacio from Portugal had the opportunity to catch all four "Hogs" during arrival.

ReplyDeleteWhile I was at the airshow at Moody AFB on 27th October I noted all 4 of these A-10's in the shelters with the based aircraft.
All were still wearing the SP tail code but I wonder whether they have been transferred to the 23rd Wg

only 12 are left in europe including 4 undergoing refit at gosselies belgium
