Search and recovery at A-10C crash site in Georgia

U.S. Air Force members from Moody Air Force Base, Ga., search and recover remains of a crashed A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft Oct. 5, 2011, in a non-residential area northeast of Berlin, Ga., in Cook County. Twenty members from the base participated in the recovery effort. The aircraft incident occurred approximately 2:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, and has since been under investigation. U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Tyler Eubank uses a multi-terrain loader to transport a piece of a crashed A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft as he is guided by Senior Airman Todd Alter Oct. 5, 2011, in a non-residential area northeast of Berlin, Ga., in Cook County. Eubank and Alter are both heavy equipment operators with the 23rd Civil Engineer Squadron who were part of a team tasked to recover all remains of the crash site while preserving the natural habitat.
