CAP Lone Eagle Composite Squadron visits ANG 111th FW at Willow Grove, PA.

The Lone Eagle Composite Squadron recently visited the Air National Guard 111th Fighter Wing, Willow Grove, PA, through the efforts of Capt Greg Skinner and 1st Lt Dan Kaufman, ANG, 111th FW, A-10 pilot, of Bernardsville, NJ. They received a very detailed briefing on the pilot life support equipment available to pilots of the A-10 Thunderbolt II Warthog fighter aircraft including the parachute and cockpit simulators. They also received a detailed briefing on the A-10 by MSgt Djea, ANG, 111th FW, and other Crew Chiefs on the cockpit, avionics, engines, and various ordinance systems.

Further, they observed two A-10's taking-off on training missions with 1st Lt Dan Kaufman explaining some of the safety procedures that the pilots where going through before takeoff. Every one attending were very pleased to have had the opportunity to observe up close the ANG 111th FW equipment and personnel. [...]
